The recipes are still the same and Biltong is still made and dried in the traditional way. Nothing artificial and no fancy additions. JUST LIKE OUPA USED TO DO IT. Wind dried the NATURAL way.
The Van Coller Family took over the business in February 2002.
They started expanding and the available operating area soon became to small. The first BILTONG DEN Factory was opened in April 2002.
In November of the same year another shop was opened in Roodepoort and BILTONG DEN also started supplying a number of National corporates with it’s products.
Due to this exposure BILTONG DEN received numerous requests to open shops in other parts of the country.
In March 2004 BILTONG DEN moved into it’s own factory in Heidelberg. New modern equipment made it possible to still dry our meat the traditional way but with no interference from the weather.
